What does GHK-Cu actually do?
GHK-Cu is a copper tripeptide found naturally in the body. In human skin research it has been studied for the appearance of fine lines and firmness; the best study is an 8-week split-face trial in women aged 40–65 that measured wrinkle depth with 3D imaging. That trial used a different GHK-Cu formulation from this balm, so we treat it as evidence for the ingredient, not a promise for the jar.
Why put it in a tallow balm?
Because a peptide does nothing if it dries off in ten minutes. Whipped tallow is an occlusive: it holds a layer of moisture over the skin all night, so the peptide stays in contact. Manuka honey and jojoba do the hydrating; tallow does the sealing.
Is this for wrinkles, or for dryness?
Both jobs, on different clocks. Dry skin feels softer by morning. Fine lines and firmness are an 8–12 week job with nightly use. It won’t fade dark spots or marks; nothing in the human evidence supports that.
Can I use it with vitamin C or acids?
Keep them in different steps: vitamin C in the morning, this at night. Copper can destabilise L-ascorbic acid; a chemistry concern, not a skin-harm one.
Will it break me out?
If you’re oily or breaking out right now, skip it: tallow is rich in oleic acid and that can make breakouts worse. For dry, normal, combination or mature skin it is a night balm.

Pale blue whipped balm, close up

Up close

pale blue, whipped, melts on contact.

The colour is methylene blue, an antioxidant. The whip is grass-fed tallow with manuka honey and jojoba.

What it does

four jobs in one jar.

GHK-Cu

Copper tripeptide-1, the peptide studied in human skin for the appearance of fine lines and firmness.

Tallow seals

Whipped grass-fed tallow: an occlusive layer that keeps the peptide in a film of moisture all night.

Honey and jojoba hydrate

Manuka honey holds water; jojoba is a wax ester close to skin’s own sebum.

Two antioxidants

Methylene blue and vitamin E. No fragrance, no colourant; the blue is the ingredient.

How it works

signal, then seal.

Peptides are messengers. They only work while they’re in contact with skin, so the balm’s job is to keep GHK-Cu there all night.

A fingertip lifting a scoop of the pale blue balm from the jar

GHK-Cu is a small copper-binding tripeptide found naturally in the body. In the best human study to date (split-face, 8 weeks, women 40–65) a GHK-Cu formula measurably reduced the look of wrinkle depth and volume on 3D imaging. A second study, on skin after laser resurfacing, found no objective change. Real evidence, with limits, and we print both.

Whipped grass-fed tallow is an occlusive: oleic, palmitic and stearic acids form a lipid film that slows water loss overnight. Manuka honey is a humectant and jojoba is a wax ester close to skin’s sebum, so the film has water to hold. That is what keeps a peptide in contact for hours instead of minutes.

Pressing a dab of the balm into the cheek

A pea, warmed, over serum, on damp skin.

Night 1 Softer, more comfortable skin by morning. That is the tallow and the honey.
Week 4 Skin may look smoother and more even in texture with nightly use.
Week 8–12 This is the window the fine-line and firmness research used. Judge the peptide here, not on week one.
What it won’t do. It won’t fade dark spots or post-blemish marks, it won’t replace a retinoid, and this exact balm hasn’t been through a clinical trial; the studies are on the ingredient. What’s in it

six named ingredients. no fragrance.

What each one is, and what it is doing in the jar.

Active

GHK-Cu (copper tripeptide-1)

The copper peptide. Studied in human skin for the appearance of fine lines and firmness.

Concentration not disclosed by the maker, so we don’t print one

Base

Grass-fed beef tallow

Whipped rendered beef fat: the occlusive layer that holds the peptide in a film of moisture.

Humectant

Manuka honey

Pulls water toward the skin and holds it. Also the faint sweet note; nothing is added for scent.

Emollient

Jojoba oil

A liquid wax ester, structurally close to sebum, so it spreads and sinks in without heaviness.

Antioxidants

Methylene blue + vitamin E

Two antioxidants. Methylene blue is the reason the balm is pale blue.

Full ingredient list
As stated by the maker: GHK-Cu copper peptide, methylene blue, grass-fed beef tallow, manuka honey, jojoba oil, vitamin E. The full list in the maker’s order is printed on the jar.

No percentages are disclosed by the maker, so none are printed here. Use vitamin C in the morning and this at night; copper can destabilise L-ascorbic acid.

How to use

serum. balm. sleep.

GHK-Cu Peptide Serum
1 · Serum

GHK-Cu serum first, on damp skin.

Optional, but the two forms of the peptide stack. Pat dry with a fresh towel, then serum.

Lifting a scoop of balm
2 · Balm

A pea, warmed, pressed over it.

Face and neck. The whip melts on contact; press, don’t rub.

Pressing the balm into the cheek
3 · Sleep

Let it sit all night.

Softer by morning; judge the peptide at week eight, not week one.

Is it for you

reach for it if. skip it if.

Reach for it if

  • Your skin is dry, normal, combination or mature
  • You want a copper-peptide step that also moisturises
  • Fine lines and firmness are the goal, and you’ll give it 8–12 weeks
  • You prefer a short, no-fragrance ingredient list

Skip it if

  • You’re oily or breaking out right now (tallow can make it worse)
  • You want a daytime cream under makeup
  • You’re expecting dark spots or marks to fade (no evidence for that)
  • You avoid animal-derived skincare

Use vitamin C in the morning and this at night; copper can destabilise L-ascorbic acid.

FAQ

questions, answered.

Is the copper peptide proven?

Two human trials exist. One (split-face, 8 weeks, n=40) measured a real improvement in the look of wrinkle depth on 3D imaging; the other, on skin after laser resurfacing, found no objective change. Real evidence with limits, on the ingredient rather than this jar. We print both rather than pick one.

How long until I see something?

Softer, more comfortable skin the first morning: that is the tallow and honey. The fine-line and firmness work is an 8–12 week job with nightly use, because that is the window the research used.

Does it have to be at night?

It works best there. It is an occlusive whip, so it sits on the surface and makeup goes on unevenly over it. Morning is for the serum.

Can I use it with retinol?

Yes. Retinol earlier in the routine, balm last. If both are new to you, introduce one at a time so you know what your skin is reacting to.

Why is it blue?

Methylene blue, an antioxidant, is in the formula and it is blue. Nothing is added for colour.

Will it mark my pillow?

Use a pea and give it a few minutes before bed. Methylene blue is a pigment, so a heavy layer that hasn’t sunk in could mark a white pillowcase; a thin one pressed in shouldn’t.

How much GHK-Cu is in it?

The maker doesn’t publish a percentage, so we don’t print one. If you want a stated concentration, our serum lists it on the label.
